The beat is strong with a flavor that cannot be illustrated, with radical foot work and bold body movement unmatched by anyone, along with application to every detail only indicates the passion that these young men and women take their craft seriously. The discipline, team work and self-respect are the key elements that make’s West Powelton most proud of its former members whom went on to college, military service and business ventures to become effective leaders of tomorrow. In January 2005 the West Powelton Drill Team & Drum Line was featured on CBS KYW TV News channel 3 in Philadelphia, a story about positive kids putting schoolwork and family first and was featured January 2006 on 10 NBC News channel, “Murder in Philadelphia” a story about teenagers doing their part to prevent crime.
